Our story

Named for Besta June.

Besta is one of the Norwegian words for grandmother. Ours is June: a proud Norwegian who filled our childhood with love, rosemaling, and stories of family.

BestaJuni started as a way to give the next generation something of her to hold on to. Every doll wears the bunad she taught us to love, and the rosemaling in these photos is hers.

When the first samples arrived, the very first thing we did was put one in her hands. She approved.

How does a preorder work?

You reserve a doll now with no payment. When the first batch is ready to ship, we email you an invoice with a secure payment link. Once it's paid, your doll ships.

How long are preorders open?

Preorders close , or sooner if the first batch is spoken for. After that, the next chance will be the second batch.

When will my doll arrive?

The first batch is expected to ship . We'll email updates along the way, and you'll get a tracking number when yours is on its way.

Where do you ship, and how much is it?

We ship to addresses in the United States only for now. Shipping is added to your invoice at cost, as a single flat rate per order.

Can I cancel my preorder?

Yes. Reply to your confirmation email any time before you've paid your invoice and we'll release your spot, no questions asked.

Are the dolls safe for young children?

The dolls are soft plush with embroidered faces and no small hard parts. As with any plush toy, please supervise babies and toddlers.
